In 1201 King John granted a charter for the holding of a fair in Reach and it has taken place ever since, year by year, through the good times and the not so good times.

It was originally held on Rogation Monday but it has long since been changed to the early May Bank Holiday - our next Reach Fair will take place on Monday May 4th 2026.

According to original custom, it will be opened by the Mayor of Cambridge accompanied by the Aldermen in full regalia and penny coins will be thrown to visitors in the crowd.
